A Tetrapack
In the process of preparing for a workshop with adolescents, where the teens could have a small insight on my work as an upcycling designer and learn some things on the topic of sustainability, the following bag was created. The core of the bag is made from packaging we all know well from morning breakfast routines, which we too often thoughtlessly throw away.
Turning Into A Bag
In order for the tetra pack to become a bag, there were different action steps, it had to go through:
- deconstruction of the tetra pack
- cutting the tetra pack in place
- cutting 2 pieces of cardboard for the sides
- cutting the lining and outer fabric in the matching size
- glueing the fabric onto the tetra pack and cardboard
- folding the tetra pack in place
- glueing the side cardboards to the folded tetra pack
- glueing the logo onto the webbing
- sewing the webbing to the bag with the logo upfront
- sewing on some buttons, to close the bag
